Washington, US: DC Studios co-chief James Gunn has dismissed speculation that 'The Batman: Part II' and 'The Batman: Part III' will be filmed back-to-back, clarifying the production plans for Matt Reeves' Batman trilogy.

During a recent Q&A session on Threads, Gunn responded to a fan who asked whether the two sequels would be shot simultaneously. His reply was brief and definitive: "I can deny," putting an end to the rumours surrounding the filming schedule.

The clarification comes as director Matt Reeves continues work on 'The Batman: Part II'.

Earlier this week, Reeves shared camera test footage from Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK, giving fans a glimpse of Robert Pattinson returning as Batman, alongside the Batmobile and a snowy setting for the upcoming sequel.

Development on the film has continued following earlier delays.

In July, Gunn confirmed that the screenplay for 'The Batman: Part II' had been completed. A letter to Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders released last August, as reported by Deadline, also stated that production was expected to begin in the spring.

Despite the progress, Warner Bros. recently revised the film's release schedule.

Last month, the studio postponed the release of 'The Batman: Part II' to 18 February 2028, while Reeves continued to tease the project by sharing camera test footage featuring Pattinson in costume.
